Business Development Manager (M&A)

I'm excited to share that I'm partnering with a Top 30 AmLaw 100 firm on their search for a Business Development Manager to support their growing M&A practice.

In this role, you'll work closely with senior members of the M&A team on key initiatives that directly impact practice growth. You'll report to the Senior Manager of the group, who happens to have been with the practice for many years and has established a tremendous amount of buy-in from the Partnership and Sr. Leaders within the Business Development Function. This would offer the preferred candidate an excellent opportunity for continued learning and development opportunities, along with career progression. The position also provides meaningful exposure to cross‑selling efforts and key client programs across both global and local markets.

I'd be interested in connecting with professionals who bring prior Legal Business Development experience, ideally with an M&A focus. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of Law Firm BD experience and a collaborative mindset, along with the desire to contribute to a high‑performing, supportive culture.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare pitches and RFP responses, directory and award submissions, and develop/maintain practice group credentials and other relevant materials specific to each opportunity.
  • Supervise the league table submission process, including coordinating with global M&A business development teams.
  • Support senior team members by attending practice meetings to develop agendas, document key takeaways, and follow-up on agreed action points.
  • Conduct research on existing and target clients, trends in the market, and competitor activity.
  • Work with the CRM team and the legal assistants to consistently keep the Firm's CRM system up to date.
