Senior BD Manager - Energy Sector

We are partnered with an elite global law firm in its search for a Senior Business Development Manager to support its market-leading Energy sector. This is a sector-based, global role with a strong client-facing focus, incorporating strategic client development, integrated marketing campaigns, and profile-raising initiatives alongside core business development responsibilities.

Based in New York or Washington, DC, you will play a critical role in driving the strategic priorities of the global Energy sector, working closely with sector leadership, partners, and the wider global Marketing & Business Development function to enhance client engagement and support sustained growth.

We are keen to connect with experienced Business Development and Marketing professionals from within a law firm or professional services environment. Prior exposure to the Energy sector-or adjacent areas such as infrastructure, renewables, oil & gas, or the energy transition-will be highly advantageous.

We are open to individuals stepping into a Senior Manager role for the first time, as well as established Senior Managers seeking a broader, more strategic global remit.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and execute the global business development strategy for the Energy sector, aligning with firmwide priorities and sector growth ambitions
  • Drive strategic client development initiatives, using market insights to identify opportunities and deepen relationships across key accounts
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality, tailored pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, ensuring alignment with client needs and sector trends
  • Spearhead profile-raising initiatives, including thought leadership, campaigns, events, and sponsorships to strengthen market positioning
  • Lead marketing and campaign activity across the sector, ensuring a coordinated and impactful global approach
  • Act as a key liaison between partners, sector leadership, and global BD and marketing teams to foster collaboration and integrated client solutions
  • Manage and mentor BD professionals, supporting their development and driving a high-performance culture
  • Monitor performance through reporting, client feedback, and KPIs to continuously refine BD activity and drive results

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a highly visible, strategic role within a globally recognised sector team. The position reports into a Director, providing excellent exposure to senior leadership and creating a fantastic pathway for upward progression within the firm.
