Associate Business Development Manager (Employment and Immigration)

Ambition are delighted to have partnered with this forward thinking Top 100 AM Law Firm as they look to hire an Associate Business Development Manager for their Employment and Immigration practice group.

The core focus of this role will be to drive the strategic growth of clients in the firm's Employment Practice, with additional support of the firm's Immigration Practice. This Assistant Manager will be supported a Business Development Specialist, providing mentorship opportunities. This is therefore perfect for somebody who is looking to take a step up in responsibility and start to develop their management skills.

This role you will collaborate with the leaders of both practice areas to develop a strategic business development plan, the leaders and attorneys have really bought into the BD & Marketing team and as such you will have constant opportunity to meet with them and not just be treated like a side function.

Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

  • Monitor industry trends and utilize this to enhance ongoing marketing and BD activities.
  • Manage the business development pipeline process and work closely with the attorneys to initiate and follow-up on sales leads, prospective client meetings, and sales preparation and follow-up. This includes coaching, responding to RFPs and drafting pitches, tailoring experience and sales messages, prepping and debriefing pitch teams, managing sales pipelines, tracking opportunities, among other things.
  • Collaborate with key departments across the firm (including diversity and inclusion, pricing, IT, etc.) to support the section and individual client needs.

The firm is in a great position where they are large enough so that you will be able to work on some high-level work but also a small enough team that you will receive genuine development.

To be successful in this role you need to have previous Business Development or Marketing experience from either a law firm or a professional services firm, ideally you will have knowledge of the Employment and Immigration practice groups.
