Business Development Manager

This Amlaw top 20 firm is looking for a Business Development Manager (based in New York) covering their M&A and PE practice areas.

The business development manager will help shape and execute the business plan for a group of transactional practices, including target development, key client initiatives, and visibility opportunities. Working closely with team members, this role will lead strategic pitches and RFPs, support cross‑practice projects, and contribute to broader departmental initiatives.

The position reports to the Director of Business Development.

Responsibilities

* Lead business development and marketing efforts for assigned practices and support partner‑level objectives.

* Advance key client programs and help identify and grow high‑value client relationships.

* Oversee pitches, RFPs, and client materials, including strategy sessions, debriefs, and outcome tracking.

* Develop and maintain practice marketing collateral, including deal lists and matter collection.

* Partner with functional teams on visibility, speaking opportunities, communications, rankings, and digital initiatives.

* Plan and manage seminars, events, and targeted marketing activities.

* Lead additional department or firm projects as assigned.

* Support the Director in team management and help develop junior marketing staff
