Business Development Manager - IP

Ambition are delighted to be supporting an established law firm to hire a Business Development Manager to focus upon their IP Prosecution sector, we are looking to engage individuals who are currently working in the Legal BD space. We would be really open to speaking to people who are existing BD Managers or those looking to step up, the role reports into an experienced Director also based in the San Diego office, so we are confident that at either level we can offer mid-long term professional development and progression.

An overview of duties include;

  • Working with the Director and attorneys, on the client relationship/development programme for the group, identifying processes for existing clients that maintains the service levels and also looks for cross selling opportunities. Within the client relationship framework you will also track market trends to identify potentially new business opportunities for the group.
  • Working closely with the key partners for the group to create individual business development plans, for specific markets/areas. This should also align well with the wider sector plans put in place.
  • With the BD Director and Assistant BD Manager, put together marketing campaigns and projects aimed at raising the profile of the firm in core markets.
  • Provide a strategic viewpoint on the pitch and RFP responses for the group.
  • Act as mentor for the Assistant Manager and BD specialist aligned to the group, to help their professional development.

We think this could be a very interesting role for someone keen to take on more responsibility in their BD career, this person would also need to have a keen interest within the IP space too.
