Business Development Specialist

We are partnering with a well‑established law firm to hire a Business Development Specialist to support its Life Sciences and Healthcare‑related practice areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a BD or marketing professional who enjoys working closely with attorneys, managing strategic initiatives, and contributing to the growth of a collaborative, high‑performing team.

About the Role

Working alongside business development leadership and attorneys, you will help drive marketing and BD initiatives, strengthen client engagement, and support the firm's broader Life Sciences strategy. This role offers a blend of hands‑on project work, content development, and strategic support across multiple practice areas.

Core Responsibilities/ Qualifications

  • Support the execution of business development and marketing initiatives for Life Sciences and related practices.
  • Build familiarity with industry trends, client priorities, and competitive activity to inform BD strategy.
  • Assist in implementing BD plans and tracking progress toward goals.
  • Coordinate RFPs, pitches, and proposals, including cross‑practice submissions.
  • Manage conference, sponsorship, and speaking opportunities, including logistics and attorney participation.
  • Collaborate with the Events team to deliver firm‑hosted programs.
  • Use CRM and experience databases to support targeting, reporting, and BD efforts.
  • Prepare directory submissions and other profile‑raising materials.
  • Maintain and update marketing collateral such as pitch decks, attorney bios, experience lists, and website content.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, business development, or client relations (professional services experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with the Life Sciences sector is a plus.
  • Experience supporting proposals and managing multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM or marketing systems is a plus.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with professionals at all levels.
