One of the world's premier international law firms is seeking a talented and strategic Business Development Manager to join their high-performing Marketing & BD team in NY or Washington, DC. In this role, you will partner closely with senior leadership and practice heads to drive growth across the firm's Government Contracts and global Antitrust/Competition practices. You'll operate as a trusted advisor to partners, shaping business plans, identifying market opportunities, and developing compelling strategies to strengthen client relationships and elevate the firm's market position. You'll work alongside a Senior Manager and cross‑functional colleagues, gaining exposure to high‑profile initiatives, cross‑selling opportunities, client development, and practice‑recognition efforts across global markets. This role also provides a platform to further develop leadership skills and contribute to firmwide BD innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and execution of business development and marketing plans aligned with firmwide strategy, including tracking ROI and refining approaches.
  • Drives strategic business development initiatives for the firm's Government Contracts and Antitrust/Competition practices by shaping market positioning, identifying growth opportunities, and contributing to pitches, proposals, and capability statements.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to raise the profile of the practices through events, PR, awards submissions, thought leadership, and digital content.
  • Partners with senior BD leadership to implement strategic BD projects, support lateral integration, and align activities with broader departmental processes and technology advancements.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to partners, supporting business planning, coaching on BD best practices, and preparing for key client meetings and pitches.
  • Leads the development of high‑impact pitches and RFP responses with a focus on compelling positioning and differentiated value.
  • Supervises and mentors junior BD team members, providing guidance on pitches, bios, experience descriptions, submissions, and event logistics.
