Business Development Manager - Capital Markets

Ambition are delighted to be partnering with a global law firm to recruit a Global Business Development Management position in their New York office focusing upon Capital Markets & Structured Finance team. The role will operate across the America's and also work collectively with colleagues and teams across Europe, giving the position some real depth and variation.

The role will be broad in it's approach, taking on both generalist BD & Marketing responsibilities whilst also giving you the opportunity to be involved in the client relationship piece. Given the team is really collegiate in it's approach, you will need to be happy to 'get stuck in' on day to day duties whilst also taking on the strategic approach working in tandem with the firms leadership team.

Key duties within the role:

  • Take the lead on devising and implementing the Business plan for the group, working with partners across the area to set the broader BD & Marketing plan and objectives whilst also providing tailored plans for individual partners or groups that are market specific.
  • Develop key strategic client plans for the group, working on putting together a comprehensive client relationship strategy with the firms' core client base within this space and play a pivotal role in ensuring the firms standing within those clients and markets.
  • Take pride and enjoyment for managing the team, the role will have 3 direct reports that you will manage daily and will be responsible for nurturing their development and professional growth within the firm.
  • Ensure there is synergy within the firm's groups and sectors, that a joined up approach is taken by the firm in certain markets, you will be involved in collating market intelligence and competitor analysis to keep the firm as leaders in their respective markets.
  • As part of the wider BD management team, you will play an active part in the firms Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy, coming up with ideas and initiatives for the firm.

We believe this is a fantastic opportunity for someone to step into a managerial role or someone who is a current manager seeking to take on more responsibility. Both avenues have a clear career pathway available for the job holder on a mid-long term basis.

An understanding of either Capital Markets or Structured Finance would be an added bonus but not essential, as we feel the knowledge of these areas can be learned. Having previous experience working within a law firm in a Marketing/Business Development capacity would be important though.

The base salary range given for this role is $155-170,000 plus bonus and additional benefits.
