Senior Business Development Manager

Job description

I'm excited to be working with a leading global law firm on their search to add an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to support growth across its Private Equity/M&A and EBEC practices. This high‑visibility role partners closely with senior attorneys and practice leadership in their transactions department, to drive execution of key BD initiatives, elevate market positioning, and manage a team of BD professionals.

In this role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to senior attorneys and practice leadership, leading the execution of critical business development initiatives while contributing to a collaborative, collegial, and high‑performing culture. This is an ideal opportunity for a BD professional looking to elevate their strategic impact, manage a high‑visibility portfolio, and work cross-functionally with groups such as Capital Markets, Funds, Real Estate, Finance, Restructuring, and Tax.

I'd love to speak with Senior legal BDM professionals looking to make a lateral move, or BDMs looking to step into a senior role, preferably within a PE/M&A practice area. Beyond that, this person must be enthusiastic about the opportunity and must lead by example for junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead BD strategy and execution for the PE/M&A and EBEC portfolios, driving growth initiatives and measurable performance.
  • Translate department strategy into clear plans, workflows, and priorities while coordinating efforts across related practices (Capital Markets, Funds, Real Estate, Finance, Restructuring, and Tax).
  • Manage lateral attorney onboarding and integration for the PE/M&A and EBEC groups.
  • Lead directories and awards submissions, ensuring alignment with strategic messaging.
  • Oversee marketing collateral, experience management, digital content, and CRM discipline.
  • Support market research, opportunity tracking, and cross-practice collaboration.
  • Work closely with internal teams on events, partner meetings, and firmwide initiatives.
