Senior Director, Business Development - Transactional


We are thrilled to be partnering with a leading global law firm on its search for a functional head of Business Development for the Transactional practices.

Based in New York (preferred), Century City, Los Angeles, Orange Country, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, or Washington, D.C., the Senior Director, Business Development will oversee the Transactional practices (including Tax and Real Estate) and report into the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer. This crucial role is rooted in driving revenue growth of the firm, supporting the transactional lawyers with their marketing initiatives and managing the US Transaction Business Development team.


Responsibilities include:

  • Working with relevant Practice Group Leaders and CMBDO to develop plans and determine business development priorities for the transactional practices
  • Leading and driving related revenue generation initiatives including client targeting, market research, responses to RFPs, and client relationship reviews
  • Collaborating with other M&BD leads on cross-practice and cross-border opportunities and efforts; work in partnership with the communications, brand, and award and recognition teams to execute strategic visibility initiatives and build brand awareness
  • Providing senior lawyers coaching and guidance
  • Leading team efforts related to strategic key transactional clients including providing direction, infrastructure, KPIs and metrics for the relevant initiatives
  • Building and managing a highly effective team of marketing and business development professionals located across the U.S.

If you have 15 years of a professional services marketing and BD background, including significant management experience, please do reach out. We are seeking individuals with a strong business acumen, proven relationship building skills, a focus on revenue growth, and a results-oriented and client service mentality. Exceptional communication skills, a dynamic energy level and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams is imperative.

The annual compensation range for this position is $340-$375k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
