Ambition is delighted to announce that BigLaw marketing and business development veteran Erin Lawler has joined the firm in New York as U.S. Client & Markets Advisor.

Lawler has over 20 years of experience in AmLaw 100 firms, having held key and progressive marketing and business development positions at several prominent BigLaw firms. In addition, Lawler worked for an international insurance organization, first in its litigation management unit and then in business development.

After graduating from Boston College, Lawler started her professional career as a recruiter. She also worked in HR and professional development in law firms before transitioning into marketing and business development.

“Having worked with Erin as a client on several occasions, I am very excited to welcome her to Ambition U.S.,” said Ambition Associate Director Ben Curle.

“Erin is a great addition to our growing team in New York and will support us in a client-focused role, extending our coverage and recruitment offering across the North American market.”

Added Nicky Acuna Ocana, Ambition’s Regional Managing Director for the U.S., Europe and UK:

“Erin will enhance our search offering at the senior end of the legal market – a natural with her significant legal marketing and BD experience and as someone who has lived and breathed the legal marketing/BD world over the past two decades. We know she will be an invaluable asset and increase our consultative capabilities to both our clients and individuals alike.”

In the U.S., Ambition recruits for positions from Director and C-suite to specialist-level in marketing, business development and communications, with a focus on business development planning, bids and proposals, client relationship management, communications and public relations, digital marketing, events, graphic design, key account management and other related areas.

The recent opening of a New York office, in the iconic Chrysler Building, has enabled Ambition to significantly expand its services to U.S. law firms while continuing to support UK-based firms.

“I am thrilled to join Ambition,” Lawler said. “I have gotten to know the firm very well in recent years, and I’ve always been impressed with the way the team services both individual clients looking for a new role and law firm clients in need of best-in-class marketing, business development and communications professionals. Ambition’s way of doing things makes it a standout in the industry.”

She added:

“It is also exciting to join Ambition just after the opening of the first U.S. office in New York. The firm is in growth mode, and there are many opportunities to support individual and firm clients in New York and Washington, DC, along with other locations across the country.”

This year celebrating its 25th anniversary, Ambition was founded in 1999 by Nick Waterworth and Paul Lyons in Sydney, Australia. Now with a New York office, Ambition has already grown a successful presence across Asia, the UK and Australia, with offices in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney and Melbourne.

Ambition’s growth has been underpinned by its corporate philosophy of “inch wide, mile deep,” emphasizing its focus on narrow, specialist areas of recruitment and building exceptionally deep knowledge in those fields.
